I'm Lorne Ashley: producer, songwriter and engineer, and the person behind Echo Era Audio.
I grew up making music with my younger brother, and we spent 15 years in bands together: from Picture Book, which looped and remixed itself live long before that was easy, to Stony Browder Jr., a 14-piece mutant-disco collective with a strict no-laptop rule. One of my songs ended up on a Cher album, and a bass opera I co-wrote, The Wolf, played Bestival three years running.
Along the way I became the person artists call when the technical side has to be right: building the playback for Magic Mike Live in the West End, and running playback on tour for Maribou State, Montell Fish and Youngr.
Today I'm based in Copenhagen. I produce, mix and master records for artists from Denmark and abroad, mentor producers, still head out on tour, and make my own music as LORNÆ.
What I care about is simple: finishing the music, keeping the artist's identity intact, and making the process clear and calm, from the first call to the final master.
